Teach and explain

Whiteboard explainers, drawn by hand while you watch

Type a topic or paste your notes. You approve the script for free, then a hand draws every scene in time with the voice, with captions on. Up to 3 minutes today.

How it works

Free account. You approve the script before any picture is drawn.

For Teachers, course creators, YouTubers and trainers

A hand draws a baker with a bowl of dough under the title Why does bread rise?

A real StrokeTale video, drawn live in your browser by the engine that renders the MP4. Press play to watch it from the start.

What you get

Made for this kind of video.

  • A real hand, your choice

56 photo hands or a line hand, with 8 handwriting fonts and 8 drawing techniques.

  • Classic looks

Classic whiteboard, clean marker or chalkboard. Switching looks is free.

  • Every picture is new

Each scene gets a new picture made for your video, drawn stroke by stroke. No clip-art library to dig through.

  • What you see is the MP4

The preview and the export come from the same engine.

Good to know

  • Explainers run up to 3 minutes today. Longer explainers, with chapters, are coming.
  • You can't upload your own images yet; each picture is made for your video.

How it works

Three steps. No timeline.

Real screens from the app. Nothing is drawn, and nothing is paid, until you approve the script.

  1. The Topic step in StrokeTale: a topic typed in, the formats, the shape and the length.

    Tell us what to make

Type a topic, paste your notes or a script, and pick the kind of video. Every setting can change later.

  2. Approve the script, free

Read every scene and change it in plain words. Nothing is drawn, and nothing is paid, until you say yes.

  3. The StrokeTale editor: the drawn scene, the Director chat for changes in plain words, and the scene timeline.

    Watch it come to life

Pictures, voice, captions and music arrive scene by scene. Change any scene by chatting, then download your MP4.

You stay in control

Nothing happens without your say.

You read the script before anything is drawn, change one scene by asking, and step back with Undo. Anything that uses credits shows its price first.

  • Approve the script first

Edit any line, or ask for a new version. Scripts and revisions are free; pictures wait for your yes.

  • Change a scene by chatting

Say what you want in plain words. Only that scene is redrawn, and scene edits are free.

  • Undo anything

Every change can be undone, and your project saves itself as you go. Exports show their price before you confirm.

Questions

Straight answers.

Do I need drawing skills?

No. You describe the video; StrokeTale writes it, draws it and voices it. You can change any scene by chatting.

Can I change the hand or the handwriting?

Yes. Pick a photo hand (five skin tones, six tools, left or right), a line hand or no hand, and one of 8 handwriting fonts.

How much control do I have?

All of it. You approve the script before anything is drawn, choose the look, hand, voice and music, and can change any scene, line or setting afterwards.

Can I edit after the video is made?

Yes. Ask the Director in plain words, or edit the words, pictures, figures, charts, captions and timing yourself. Only what you change is redone, and scene edits are free.

Who owns the videos I make?

You keep all rights in what you put in, and we give you all the rights we have in your videos, so you can publish them, including commercially, within our terms. Some countries don't protect AI-made material by copyright.

Is my content private?

Yes. Your projects are private unless you share them. We don't sell your data or use your content to train AI models, and you can download your data or delete your account at any time.
