Stories and characters

Cartoon and 3D-style videos with a cast that stays the same

Pick Soft 3D, Modern flat or Watercolour, name your characters, and every scene is painted in that look with the same people in it. The hand reveals each picture in time with the voice.

How it works

Free account. You approve the script before any picture is drawn.

For Social creators, kids' channels, brands and storytellers

What you get

Made for this kind of video.

  • Soft 3D

Rounded clay shapes with depth and soft light, for social, product and kids.

  • Modern flat and watercolour

Clean flat vector for product and SaaS; loose watercolour for stories and wellbeing.

  • Consistent characters

Choose and name up to 4 characters. Each keeps the same look from the first scene to the last.

  • Switch looks for free

Change the look at any time. Repainting pictures already made is optional and shows its price first.

Good to know

  • Characters are shown in still pictures revealed by the hand; they don't walk or lip-sync.
  • Comic and Paper cutout looks are coming soon.

How it works

Three steps. No timeline.

Real screens from the app. Nothing is drawn, and nothing is paid, until you approve the script.

  1. The Topic step in StrokeTale: a topic typed in, the formats, the shape and the length.

    Tell us what to make

Type a topic, paste your notes or a script, and pick the kind of video. Every setting can change later.

  2. Approve the script, free

Read every scene and change it in plain words. Nothing is drawn, and nothing is paid, until you say yes.

  3. The StrokeTale editor: the drawn scene, the Director chat for changes in plain words, and the scene timeline.

    Watch it come to life

Pictures, voice, captions and music arrive scene by scene. Change any scene by chatting, then download your MP4.

You stay in control

Nothing happens without your say.

You read the script before anything is drawn, change one scene by asking, and step back with Undo. Anything that uses credits shows its price first.

  • Approve the script first

Edit any line, or ask for a new version. Scripts and revisions are free; pictures wait for your yes.

  • Change a scene by chatting

Say what you want in plain words. Only that scene is redrawn, and scene edits are free.

  • Undo anything

Every change can be undone, and your project saves itself as you go. Exports show their price before you confirm.

More to make

You might also make.

  • A stick figure holds up a coin under the title 20% savings, with word-by-word captions.

    Stickman videos

Stick figures act your idea out, timed to the voice, with no pictures to pay for.

  • Kids' stories

Gentle picture stories read aloud, with a character who stays the same.

    See how
  • A hand draws a baker with a bowl of dough under the title Why does bread rise?

    Whiteboard explainers

A hand draws your idea, scene by scene, while the voice explains it.

Questions

Straight answers.

Is there a comic-book look?

Comic and Paper cutout are coming soon. They draw in the engine, but their pictures are still being tested.

Will my characters look the same in every scene?

That is what the Cast step is for. Pictures come from an image model, so a small difference can slip through; redraw that scene with the Director, free.

How much control do I have?

All of it. You approve the script before anything is drawn, choose the look, hand, voice and music, and can change any scene, line or setting afterwards.

Can I edit after the video is made?

Yes. Ask the Director in plain words, or edit the words, pictures, figures, charts, captions and timing yourself. Only what you change is redone, and scene edits are free.

Who owns the videos I make?

You keep all rights in what you put in, and we give you all the rights we have in your videos, so you can publish them, including commercially, within our terms. Some countries don't protect AI-made material by copyright.

Is my content private?

Yes. Your projects are private unless you share them. We don't sell your data or use your content to train AI models, and you can download your data or delete your account at any time.
